ouch
you deserved it they should have left you there. I don't get why people don't help the people here who need it. That's exactly why those countries don't care about their own because they know some tree hugger will go over and do all the dirty work for them. Also that commercial where it says send money to sponsor a child and the little boy is shown, that kid has to be 30 years old by now its same commercial for 15 years
This had happened to be before. I went to a 3 week trip to the U.K with a group of about 40. My parents didn't came to pick me up. It was very embarrassing and so sad. I have to pay $80 to get a ride from the airport to my house.
use the correct word bro, its come not came. I figured since you like calling people out on mistakes and calling them bro you could take a little criticism yourself ydi
should have stayed in the UK and had a beer, thats what Ive done pretty much my whole life
You do volunteer work with children in South Africa and as soon as you leave you bitch about something so trivial as your ride wasn't there on time. Nice.
very good point!
It was only 3 and a half weeks... family will always be family, next time go and have fun in the airport
so what your parents forgot to pick you up its not like you don't have two ****** feet or friends.. YDI for being such a pussy
Not so easy... their home may be a long way away and booking transport at last minuite might not be possible or very expensive. I.e When I fly, flights to anywhere long distance are from the capital city. It's about 3 hour jorney from my home to there (longer if i was going for public tansport) therefor going there without booking a train/coach without planning is expenisve and difficult. So in my eyes OP probably couldn't get home very easily (if at all, if she didn't have any money on here). OP's parents could have made a day trip out of it. Anyway, OP, if you live near the airport.. find your own way back?
Sucks, but i hope you called your parents straight after you got off the plane to see where they were.
Suck it up. Helping people isn't about self rewards, and if it is to you, you've missed the point
Self rewards??? How is getting a ride home a reward? Yeah, it'd be nice, but seriously... I know that if my parents forgot to pick me up after a vacation or mission trip I'd be pretty upset! I wouldn't just 'suck it up' and take hike home. You people who keep saying 'YDI', or 'suck it up!', and 'who cares?' obviously aren't putting themselves in the OP's shoes. Her parents FORGOT about her.

That sucks. Props for helping out the poor kids here. I think it's funny how some people assume that everyone from South Africa is poor and lives in a shack. Yes there are a lot ot people like that, but S.A is mainly cities. I'm white, born and raised and living in a city in S.A. Nothing third world African poverty about it. So everyone who says YDI for coming here can die in a hole. I admire you for coming this far to help out the less fortunate, and your parents will someday admire you too.
I'm sorry OP. I kinda know how that feels.
