Ha, ha! Because dogs are known to be very loyal, this is quite the paradox you have here, my friend. I do understand how you feel. You feel betrayed. I'd recommend a cat. British shorthair tabby are best choice when compared with dogs: Playful, loyal, attention-seekers, very energetic and beautiful. But hey... It's your choice.
You don't go on two week vacations you can't bring your Puppy on, when you have a puppy.
'I thought what we had was special!'
Play and pet your dog a lot. Give him little puppy massages. Things will turn around.
Why would you schedule a vacation with a new puppy. YDI. Puppies need your time and the first few months are very important. Two weeks is like two years for a pup. You don't sound like you take dog ownership seriously at all.
I agree that you shouldn't be going on vacation when you've got a puppy at home, but still, just make yourself some clothing out of bacon and wear it for a while. That'll take care of it.
Are you nuts you don't take a vacation when you have a puppy you wait at least a year so the puppy knows your its owner you deserve it whining for not thinking
Just think of the dog like a toddler; you left and another person was there; the dog feels abandoned by you and perhaps is pissed off at you right now. The other person was there to fill the void the dog had. I don't know how to explain it better.
You should never have gone on a two-week holiday when you had a new puppy. It would have been distraught and confused about why you abandoned it. And it's no surprise it then became attached to your friend who became the primary caregiver. Two weeks may not seem like a lot of time to be separated but it is to a dog. Would you leave your baby behind for two weeks??
