Another reason to not change your last name!
Reminds me of an 8th grade teacher, she remarried and we all new her by her other last name, she'd kinda close her eyes each time he was called it lol.
Wah wah wah. Build a bridge and get over it. Your students won't give a damn what your name is as long as you do your job well. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. There are worse situations you could be in, so suck it up, buttercup!
YDI for being a poor wife, obviously you weren't doing what you were told by your husband. I guess he's the winner out of this.
ha. I can totally see this. hey mrs jones. no its miss Alan now. the most awkward conversation. sorry, OP
Just because you got rid of your ex's last name doesn't mean that you can get rid of the fact that you were married and aren't anymore. You will still have memories of good & bad times. The best thing you can do is learn from the experience, get some good therapy, and work on yourself so that you will be happy and ready to be in a healthy relationship when the right person comes along. You can do it! [:
I had a teacher like this in highschool. She got so mad when we called her by her husbands name.

Sucks for you, OP. but do they have to call you by name every time? Can't they just say 'miss' ?
Have them call you Ms. (Whatever letter your ex-husband's name started with) that way it isn't as painful.
