Today, I got locked out of my car for an hour in frigid weather at a busy gas station. Every time I tried to use the key, the alarm went off and the locks wouldn't work. The car company claims they've never heard of this happening. I just bought it last week after taking out a 5 year loan. FML

I'm thinking you should say what type of car you got, so we all know what car not to buy.

*Walks back to car and sees steel I-beam crushing their car* "Dammit! Someone steeled my car again!"

Take it back now and find out the problem or suffer for fear.

Many years ago (1998), same thing happened n the only way to shut my car's alarm was opening with the key. I didn't even know that my car had an alarm, try that lol

It's none of my business but you probably should get a car you can afford

Where in the world did you get that they couldn't afford it? The loan? That means they want to build credit, not that they can't afford it. I'd love to meet someone who throws down $20-30k each time they get a new car.

If you can go out and drop 25,000 dollars cash, good for you, but you're a VAST minority, my friend. A 5 year loan term is pretty normal.

In Cali you get a 30-90 warranty depending if you bought a new car or used. Your car should be under warranty if not lawyer up.

New car warranties these days are minimum 3 years. It's unknown if this is new or used. Either way this should be covered. And if they are dicks about it, just park it right in front of the service door and leave it there. They'll fix it. But on a side note, op, if you read this, unlock it with the key and hold it unlocked. The alarm should stop. Probably a bad key fob in someway or a bad door switch.

It sucks balls that you have to pay it off for 5 years.

Wouldn't happen to be a maxima...if so holding in lock position for a few seconds works for me

better tell them to fix that shit. it was me I would of cursed them out for effing up my car

I think our car had this. We had to do it so the electric key no longer works and we have to push the little locks down manually.
