OP here! First off, for all the people inquiring about what the costume is, it is a plush dinosaur that his legs go into and his upper half sticks out of it. You can see a picture of it if you search "dinosaur" at costume express. And the issue isnt that he loves the costume, in fact he hated putting it on at first. The issue is that he wants candy and he wants candy RIGHT NOW. Thanks for all the suggestions. But now that a day has gone by, the costume is in a closet and he seems to have forgotten all about it.

Tell him you can practice trick or treat in the house. Go around to the doors in the house and have him trick or treat the bathroom and give him a candy on one occasion and a carrot stick on another.
Seriously? Grow up, try parenting and put your foot down to your kid. And why does a two year old know what candy is? You've got some long years coming with that style. Hopefully your kid won't end up suffering from it the rest of his live
He is 2 years old dude.
Take your own advice for the growing up part, 96. I can see your kids will definitely be fun at parties with how you think that a toddler wouldn't know what candy is by that age. I feel sorry for them and their Halloween being ruined already with your mind set. :(
I pray to god you don't have kids one day.
i remember for a while I thought Halloween was about dressing up in costume and passing out candy to others. In my mind then I thought families were notified beforehand to make sure that there was an even amount of Trick or Treaters to Candy Distributors every year. I thought both were very important jobs to do. Later (I was six) I learned that that was not the case.
Please don't breed.
He's little...he'll understand in the future...I bet he looks adorable...
too cute!
If he hasn't eaten so much candy that he pukes, you're not trying hard enough. Have fun.
Poor kid
Hey look at it this way... at least he doesn't hate the costume. Since it came in the mail I'd say it cost a pretty penny. Besides... think how happy he will be when he finally does get to go trick-or-treating. Won't dealing with his little "meltdown" for now be worth it in the long run? haha.

I'm an adult and want my candy right now
My candy never got past the second day. My father would be passed out on the floor surrounded by candy wrappers
