Today, I got stuck in an elevator. I called the fire department and told them where I was. They said they'd be right there and not to panic. It's hour 6. FML

Today, I got stuck in my building's elevator. I pushed the emergency button, which made a ringing noise. After about half an hour, I heard someone yell, "Stop pushing that button, my kids are sleeping." FML

Today, I got stuck in an elevator. The help-line told me, "Don't touch the door. We'll be there soon". Two hours later, I had a headache, my legs were stiff, and my date must've thought I stood her up. The tech finally arrived, pries the door open, then rudely asked, "Why didn't you do that yourself?" FML

Elevator safety code requires by law for elevators to have an emergency phone. This phone is supposed to be monitored 24/7 and usually they will dispatch the elevator technician. So I would look for a phone button if you're still stuck.

That sucks, but if there were actual fires that the fire department had to deal with, it makes sense that a person who's stuck in an elevator but safe wouldn't be their top priority.
