Today, I locked the door to our only bathroom so my two year old wouldn't get in and make a mess. I crapped my pants while trying to unlock it with the key that rests on the frame. FML

Today, we got new doors fitted. There were new locks on the bathroom, to the reluctance of my mother, who thought one of us would lock ourselves in. "Only an idiot would lock themselves in," I said, and shut the door to demonstrate. I locked myself in. FML

Today, I was fed up with things being taken from my room so I installed a key-locking handle on my door. I installed everything but the door knobs, and because I was worried that I would put the two of them on backwards, I closed the door to check. I'm now locked in my room. FML

Today, my 4-year-old twin sons discovered how to lock doors. They locked me out of the house while I was taking out the trash. I had to climb through the kitchen window, which they'd generously smeared with peanut butter. FML

Today, I locked myself out of the house I was house-sitting. An hour later, and my fifth attempt at climbing the fence, I figured I'd try the door one more time. Turns out I was turning the handle the wrong way and the door wasn't locked in the first place. FML

Today, I had no choice but to use a porta potty. I was happy to get a clean one. I wasn't happy when a young child tried opening the door and used enough force to break the lock, showing me sitting on the toilet to the world. FML

My 3 yr old doesn't know how to work them (the covers that go on a door knob) but he knows how to take it completely off, open the door, then put it back on. I'm not sure if I should be impressed or upset! I still have a hard time getting them on/off but have figured out how to work it while on... 0_o

My mother used to run a day care and had to have all those little gadgets. She had some device on a cabinet I needed in, and I couldn't figure it out to save my life! -___- My ending solution was breaking it clean off.

She wasn't home, it wasn't during daycare hours, and it was a cupboard full of plastic Tupperware and canned food. Not that big of deal. Turned out she had a spare too.

In all fairness those things are really hard to operate sometimes yet the children they're supposed to protect can usually figure them out before the adults. You don't deserve it.
