Today, I got yelled at for providing horrible customer service, in a store I don't even work for. FML

You should have turned the tables around and asked to see the person's manager.

Finally! A situation where the customer is wrong! You should go to the store manager and demand an advance on your imaginary paycheck.

Still not as ridiculous as being approached at a Target while wearing monkey-themed PJ bottoms and a Hot Topic t-shirt, with the person asking me if something was on sale. Cue 'generic WTF' look. SMH.

My "WTF" would only be to ask you why the hell you were wearing pyjamas in public.

Try going into a warehouse with a red polo shirt. You can send customers in rings around the store until they finally realise you don't work there, your shirts just the same colour.

A guess a lot of us just have that "customer service" look... Pretty much any time I go shopping I get asked if I work at at least one of the stores I visit. Just another reason I hate shopping. Even in the winter when I'm wearing a coat and boots I've had people stop me... what is wrong with people?

No. 80, to answer your 'what is wrong with people?' question, the answer is that people are unobservant and stupid. Even worse, they have no idea they are unobservant and stupid. When I was in high school, my mother sat with me in the parking lot of the mall and gave me a screaming shit fit of a lecture about how stupid and unobservant I was and that I was going to be killed because I wouldn't notice an armed gunman running at me until he'd shot me. The entire time she was having her conniption, a drug deal was going down right in front of us and she completely missed it. Just last week I got stuck taking her shopping (my dad is too ill to do it) and she walked right past the butcher to ask a male customer if he had any more pork roasts in the back. And to this day, she thinks she is Sherlock Holmes and I have cement between my ears.

Damn, that takes talent. Next time have a bit of fun with it, really go all out obnoxious on people!

Happened to me when Iw worked in McDonalds and had a few shifts in the one in walmart. During breaks we had to walk around walmart because there was no breakroom in the McDonald are (too small). I was always stopped by walmart customers asking questions. While I did a better job than thheir employees by helping the customers find their products and giving them advice, I soon realized that was allowing walmart to get free work out of me while their employees hid away. So I started the habit of tapping my logo on my polo shirt. They got the message.

This has so happened to me. I used to wear a suit to work and if I shopping afterwards people often asked me for help. When I didn't know an answer, one woman called me "useless" and went to find a manager.

You deserve it, quit bitching and file a complaint on his ass.
