That's a situation with two solutions. One, you told them you don't work there. Or two, you trolled their ass. I hope you did the toght thing and picked the later OP.
right* my phone sucks
You should still be friendly because if you aren't you look like a bully. Plus it makes the business look bad so you cost them money! Shame on you!
I really hope you're being sarcastic or joking.
How's that even possible? I swear morons are taking over the world. They will be running the apocalypse
Sooooo that means the apocalypse will fail right?
In this tough economy, stores are hiring fewer employees and are relying on the smarter customers to help out the dumber ones. Kudos to you for being perceived as at least a smart customer. Too bad you didn't live up to the store's standards. Ask the manager for a customer training course.
Depend on what you wore. If you walked into target wearing red shirt beige pants, then you had to expect someone would think you worked there. But if you walked into home depo wearing shorts and a polo shirt then it's not your fault at all.
Dosnt matter I have worn my work shirt into a different store and the shirts look nothing alike and I still get asked if I work there or where something is.
I agree with 31. Same thing happens to me when I go to a store wearing my-- different looking work shirt. It's gotten to the point that I now carry a hoodie in my car to change into just so I won't be bothered with that, "Do you work here?" question!
Chew him right back for moronicy.
-Excuse me, where can I find milk? - I don't w... - Just answer the question! Where's the milk!? - Sorry, I don't know. I don't wo... - You work in this store and you don't even know where the milk is! I can't believe this! Such horrible customer service! I'm never going back to this store again! Good day! - but... - I SAID GOOD DAY! That's how I pictured it...
Quit the job you don't have ?
This happens to me constantly! I've been asked questions in probably a dozen different stores: Wal-Mart, Best Buy, even the grocery stores. My sister has stated I simply "reek of customer service" from all my years in retail.

You should have turned the tables around and asked to see the person's manager.
Finally! A situation where the customer is wrong! You should go to the store manager and demand an advance on your imaginary paycheck.
