You'll probably need a decent lawyer but the sues shouldn't pass in court if it was just an unavoidable incident.
It's not really your fault... Like my dad said, "Good tires will get you thru snow but nothing will get you thru ice." I hope everything works out.
Not a lawyer by any means, but I've heard you're only responsible for the car you hit and if they hit someone because you hit them, it's still their own fault, because they didn't leave enough distance to prevent hitting them.
yes! get a lawyer OP. or at least speak to one. no way you can be responsible for all 3
not in estonia. the last one pays all since it's impossible to figure out who made the biggest mess to the 1st car.
You were an idiot and consequently shit happened. Congrats, you're an idiot
how does one sliding on ice in their car make them an idiot? walking, okay, you can see or feel the ice...but in their car?..
Cars slide on ice, dipshit. It happens. How was he an idiot?
I'm assuming you've never had a ticket before, at least not from an accident...they put the weather condition on the actual ticket so not only would that be taken into account. but so would your driving record. you should be fine. but I'm assuming the idea to sue you started from one pissed off mouth and was spread to the rest of the pissed off mouths. it'll be extremely difficult to actually sue you
Also, as far as I know, unless she hit all three cars, they are all getting charged as well. If she caused one car to hit another, she gets charged for hitting one and the other car gets charged for hitting the other, and so on.
Oh come on this is so fake give me a brake
Sue the town for not properly icing the road. I'm a high school student taking civics...trust me
Don't worry op I think your insurance company will dismiss is it
I wouldn't worry about it much - tell em to eff off. They only way you see any of this is if they sue above your policy limits. If you get sued for way above your policy limits, your insurance will represent you, and if there is one thing insurance companies have, it's lawyers. They will settle at your policy limit and cut their losses. You may have to file a affidavit stating that you are more or less poor, and then they will leave you alone. A lawyer isn't going to charge into court fighting for money they will never see.

That's not really your fault though. Cars do slide on ice. No one knows when it will happen.
You should probably never trust your gut again
