Today, I had a big figure skating competition. Many of the girls before me fell or did not execute their jumps correctly. Me? I skated a flawless program. I was placed last because they said I didn't push myself hard enough to the point of falling. FML

That makes absolutely zero sense...

If at first you don't fail, try, try again.

I feel your pain OP :( one time a teacher took points off a oral assignment I did because I didn't look at my flash cards...

To play the Devil's Advocate, could it be that OP's program wasn't challenging enough from a technical perspective? If everyone else was attempting double axles at every turn and she kept both skates on the ice for the most part, the judges would probably score the other people higher to begin with and then take off points for the mistakes. Of course, I can't say that's what happened because I didn't see the programs, but that could be one explanation.

at least you know you did better than everyone else

'I'm sorry, you're too skilled for us, so I'm afraid we cannot make you a member of our prestigious team.'

#78 personally I like clumpsy better. Am mix of plump and clumsy, or even jump and clumsy in OPs competitors' cases.

Time to go all, Tonya Harding on them bitches OP!

everyone claiming judges bias and all that. how do you know she didn't do a basic routine compared to the other girls?

That sucks, sometimes it's hard to fall. The way that I fix my stature if I'm falling is to just go faster, taking more balance. I'm sorry you lost OP :/

That's how ice skating competitions are judged. You get more credit for doing more complicated tricks imperfectly than doing simple tricks perfectly. That's how they judge professional competitions, too.
