no you are not supposed to hold down an epileptic.
Today, as I was walking by my employee's office, I saw her bending down picking something up off the floor. I thought nothing of it and went back to my office. A while later she bursts in yelling at me for not helping her while she was having a siezure. it's not on her medical record, and she never told me. FML.
Question: How does one mistake a person trying to "pick something off the floor" when they're having a seizure?
Hi, this is the OP (just signed up for an account). Anyway.... @83 - I fell off my chair, under the desk (I work in an office) so I guess I wasn't THAT visible (but enough to think I'm picking stuff up off the floor) @65 - I've never had one before, so it's not like I knew what was happening either. @17 - He told me that afterwards. I told everyone at work what happened when it stopped, and he was like "Oops, I walked by but I thought you were just picking something up" @39 - I DID go to the hospital. I ended up waiting in line for 5 hours and then they just sent me home. Not everyone who has a seizure goes to the hospital anyway. @80, 14 - Yeah, I know. but he could've at least moved the chair away, or called the hospital or something. :P @15 - This happened a while ago, I just posted it today. Like other people have said, you have to start a post with "Today..." for it to get accepted. @55 - I would've lol'd. :P @26 - I wasn't saying that it was the boss's fault, or that he's an asshole or anything. It was just a crappy day. @46 - Yeah, it was my first seizure. and no, I didn't get paid for the rest of my shift. @51 - What?!?! XD
There have been many FMLs from people indignant about reactions to their seizures. Unless you informed your boss about your condition, signs to look for and how to react, you really can't complain about his reaction, or lack of one.
I hear a lawsuit
can't you sue him for that?

douche
Next time don't look like you're picking up something off the ground. Is it really that hard to have a seizure properly?
