Today, I had an argument with my partner, which resulted in us breaking up and me leaving. I drove for half an hour before I realised I had left my handbag, purse and licence at his place. I had to go ask for it back. FML

Today, we drove six hours to get to our holiday cottage only to realise that my girlfriend had forgotten her suitcase. This put her in a bad mood, so she made ME drive six hours back to her flat to get it, then when I got there, I realised HER keys to HER FLAT were still in HER handbag six hours back at the cottage. FML

Today, I got a taxi home from work. Only having notes in my wallet, I told the taxi driver that I'd run inside my house and come back out with the change for the journey. He agreed, but only if I left my bag as collateral. It seemed fair. An hour later, I realized my wallet was missing. FML

There's a lot of reasons to break up over a fight it could even be a small one sometimes things just build up and you say things that just lead to that hopefully it wasn't to bad that you can't still possibly be friend or something. hope you got your stuff back.

It's "fine" yes, people forget things, whatever. But just after a fight and breaking up with the person you have to drive back to? It'd be awkward at best, and there's no guarantee he would even give the stuff back.

No. You keep your money and cards in a purse (just like a wallet) and you keep your purse in your handbag. Your handbag may also contain other stuff such as tissues, make-up, sunglasses, keys, cell phone etc

Here's what the real FML should've read like: Today my partner left me because of a stupid argument I had with her. I was gregarious with joy when she Knocked the door half an hour later. I thought well at least one of us is smart and wants to talk it over. Alas, she was only back to pick up her keys, purse and handbag. FML.

Oookay. 1. You have NO way of knowing if it was a stupid argument or an incredibly serious one. 2. You do not know who broke up with whom. Maybe it was OP, but it could also have been her boyfriend or a mutual decision. 3. Maybe this argument WAS them talking it over. Maybe they'd been fighting for months, and this was just the one fight that led to them deciding that this wasn't going to work out.
