Today, I had my back waxed to deal with the uncontrollable hair growth. Afterwards, I broke out in numerous pimples where the hair used to be. Basically, a lose-lose situation. FML

Today, I decided to use an at-home waxing kit for the first time to get rid of the hair on my upper lip. After experiencing the trauma of waxing, I fell asleep. A few hours later, I woke up to see that I now have acne everywhere I had waxed. I have an acne mustache. FML

Today, I popped a zit that had formed around an ingrown hair "down there". It popped with so much force, the pus hit me in the forehead. Still can't get the hair out. FML

Today, I realized that the full body wax I got two weeks ago that my wife told me would look sexy doesn't just make me look like a completely hairless ten-year-old boy. The ingrown hairs everywhere now make me look like someone with chicken pox. FML

Today, I was waxing my legs and somehow dropped an enormous dollop of hot wax on my naked crotch. I refused to yank it off, but still had to cut it off with scissors. So now I have a huge patch of pubic hair way shorter than the rest of it. It looks a right mess FML

Next I'd advise asking them not to use oil to remove the wax residue, bringing your own (something skin friendly), or showering /immediately/ after you get waxed. Don't feel bad; his is a really common problem.

don't worry about it. your skin becomes used to it and you stop breaking out. shaving your back will have this effect too. best thing you can probably do is use hair removal creams but I'm not sure if it'll work.

it's totally normal, the pores are open and can get infected easily. next time wash your back as soon as you get home- just don't scrub that will hurt like a bitch. keep it up the hair thins out quickly!

don't worry it happens. the waxing opens up all the pores allowing the oils to come to a head. keep your back washed, keep waxing and it'll stop when you wax. been there.

I am a professional waxer, and I see people react this way often. If you can, ask them to use a high frequency machine after waxing. It helps to kill any bump causing bacteria. I use it on every facial wax and it works wonders. ;)
