To peoepl dissing OP for choosing Philosophy - it shows a high level of thinking, the ability to rationalse, to debate, think critically, be open minded, argue and recognise other viewppoints. It shows OP can write good essays, can research and can wrestle with complex ideas. There arew a lot of good, transferrrable skills with it - not to mention things like organisation and time management. It is important to recognise other viewpoints.
Just what every employer wants! Someone who can argue then write an essay.
Will screw him for being such an ass and not explaining good actions. Keep your head up high ?
Actually philosophy degrees are kinda like psychology degrees they show that you can work through complex problems. That dude was an asshole.
As do engineering, statistics, teaching, law, medical, and economics degrees. The difference: people want to employ Engineers, statisticians, teachers, lawyers, doctors, and economists.
I'm not sure whether I should feel personally offended by your statement, or confused as to how you came to that conclusion.
I chuckled at your "complex problems". Go learn math and physics. Then you will know...
You knew what you were getting into when you pursued a philosophy degree. I'm not saying it was a mistake but there is no huge demand these days in a feud like that :/
Yea philosophy isn't a good field to major in.
You majored in philosophy. Wtf did you think was going to happen? Congratulations, you wasted Mom and Dad's $. smh
YDI for choosing a degree that is practically useless.
I'm devastated by the ignorance of these comments. What is it, a red-neck and wrestlers fair? OP, congratulations on your master degree, I'm glad that someone is still thinking and working hard on getting an extraordinary education. Clearly humanity needs more people like you. Good luck with the morons.
To all the people saying that philosophy is useless, that's untrue. A lot of businesses want it because it teaches people how to think outside the box

Yeah, I'm in the "You had not one, but two chances to major in something useful" camp. What did you expect?
You should philosophize about why certain portions of mankind feel the need to be dicks
