Today, I had my gallbladder removed. I have a very painful incision in my belly that makes any kind of movement excruciating. I've had the hiccups 5 times so far. FML

Yeah they did it laparoscopically. And any kind of major surgery is going to be painful, but having it done laparoscopically is much, much better than an open incision! Try not to worry, it's a very safe surgery and they'll take good care of you :)

Feel your pain! Had my spleen removed some years back.. Not very fun being ticklish and have 3 older brothers...

Did they do a laparoscopy on you? Because I have one scheduled for next week. :( I'm terrified..

I had gallbladder surgery with an open incision (13 cm). After the surgery, I asked the nurse when they would give me a morphine injection. OK, you'll get another one, she said. But after one night with a morphine pump the pain was almost gone, and I could get out of bed. The following night I could have slept like a baby, if my roommate hadn't been snoring all night. The surgery was two years ago, and I haven't missed my gallbladder since then.

Lap surgeries are safe and very easy. Took me about 3 weeks to get over it all vs being opened up would be more then a month.

Tilt your head back and fill your mouth with water. Don't choke! Take quick gulps of the water. Good luck!

Just wait til you sneeze that will be a painful experience.

I just got my large intestine removed and the same thing happened to me. I feel your pain.

Sorry op, i had the same thing done last year. The pain will ease up in a few days :)

What ever you do, do not throw up. It will be the most excruciating pain of your life especially if you just got it out.

Oh grow up, its not that bad, I had mine out last month.

We're all real impressed by your lack of compassion for other human beings.

Just wait and hope you don't get nauseous! I had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago and am nauseous 24/7 and rely on Meds... Hopefully it won't happen and hiccups are the worst you get!

Poor OP. Were you the one being laughed at in the ambulance while throwing up? :(

Sorry, OP! Abdominal surgery is no fun.
