Today, I had my gallbladder removed. I have a very painful incision in my belly that makes any kind of movement excruciating. I've had the hiccups 5 times so far. FML

Yeah they did it laparoscopically. And any kind of major surgery is going to be painful, but having it done laparoscopically is much, much better than an open incision! Try not to worry, it's a very safe surgery and they'll take good care of you :)

Feel your pain! Had my spleen removed some years back.. Not very fun being ticklish and have 3 older brothers...

OP, asked why they didn't do a laparoscopy and then saw your comment saying that they did. If they did and it hurts THAT much, you might want to get it checked for inflammation/infection...

i had mine out last year and me and my mom made an awful decision to watch bridesmaids. we had to stop 20 minutes in because laughing hurt so bad. atleast by that point i could sit up. for like 4 days i could barely even roll over in bed

quickest cure for hiccups is to hyperventilate just a little. after that you can just breathe deep from then on out to prevent them.

I had mine removed a couple months ago and had the same problem. Its not funn

i feel your pain op. 2 years ago, i had not only that problem, but a severe allergic reaction to the pain meds they gave me, which made it feel like my head was literally going to split in half. their response? "if you would shut up and stop crying, the pain would go away." yeah. that was on christmas eve-day a couple years ago.

I remove the gall bladders bladders! then boil it in soup and drink it through my pores of my elbows. that is the truth!

I was just like that. I couldn't breathe without it hurting. Everyone time I coughed I thought I was going to die. Worst experience for me and I was only 16. I hope you recover fast with as little pain or discomfort as possible!

I had my gallbladder removed in August, via lap surgery, and I don't understand your pain at all. I drove myself home the day after the surgery, having to stop to change a tire on the way, and was back to work (at a sawmill) in 2 weeks. I had almost 0 pain after the surgery, aside from some minor cramping (which I still get from time to time) and was released with no pain medication.
