I lost my virginity when I was 16 to a guy I've been with for over a year. That doesn't make me "retarded". If it doesn't work out, the fact that I lost my virginity to him won't bother me- it's not anything I could change so I wouldn't let myself worry about it. If OP is over the legal age, she can have sex if she damn well wants. It's not for you to decide.
