Today, I had shelves installed using a builder who came highly recommended by my co-worker. Turns out the builder is her friend, who has no actual qualifications or experience as a builder, but 'it's his dream'. I now have a gaping hole in my kitchen where the shelves should be. FML

Go to his house and let him know it was your dream to be a wrecking ball operator

Your like Disneyland ! You know, "where dreams come true" No? Okay. But seriously Fyl. Maybe you can call it one of a kind wall art? Or cover it up with something!

Or cover it with wal art:O Just put a painting in front of it, and it'll be fine.

I hope you paid him in imaginary dollars.

I used to have a shelf, but now there's a hole in the wall.

That's where doing it yourself comes into action....

I don't think a 'builder' is a thing.. Do you mean contractor?

Then why is there a 'bob the builder'???

YDI for not checking him out first! Haven't you heard all the horror stories about people getting ripped off by "contractors with years of experience in the business"? Come the **** on! Are you that dense?

How old are you kid??? Have your nuts even dropped yet?

Apparently yours haven't dropped either.

Gaping holes.. I remember some guys telling me that they had some of those after coming back from prison.

Reminds of a Spongebob episode my nephew was watching this morning. You should make it a drive-through window.
