Technically "reptiles" don't exist. Turtles are Testudines.

Technically turtles aren't actually reptiles. In a way, birds are closer to "other" reptiles than turtles are.

Veterinarian here to clear up all the misconceptions. Reptiles do exist (as the class Reptilia) which turtles do fall into (Order Chelonii...or Testudines). We don't really like the term "cold-blooded" but instead we use the term ectotherm. This doesn't mean that they have NO control over their body temperature (behavior, metabolic rate, etc all can influence it) but their temperature does depend and vary based on the surrounding environment. Small little fact leatherback turtles have a very high rate of metabolism when active, that radiates heat keeping their body temperature above the temperature of the water they are in. So leatherback turtles are cold blooded, but kinda not really.

Maybe you should intervene on the turtles behalf if he isn't taking care of it properly, and while you're at it give him a book about his little reptilian friend. Hopefully he isn't as dense as his turtles shell is in the long run.

You know, I keep seeing FMLs about people having a boyfriend/girlfriend who does something like this. Frankly, I have to say, you deserve it. You all do. Next time, get a boyfriend/girlfriend with an IQ around yours or don't complain about them being or doing something dumb.
