Maybe she can't or maybe she can. You never know what someone can do until they try. Seems like a good time to test her limits and see what she's capable of doing and at the same time she won't be left out so much on social activities. Also, couldn't hurt to do some research and get ideas for her to try out.
They could've played marco polo.
Yeah, it's not inappropriate at all, but I think that the blind girl would've had a major advantage as a seeker if her other senses are heightened and she could kind of hear where the other kids were going and possibly recognize a smell when she gets super close
She still should have been able to play the game (with another child), but I think a much better game would have been Marco-Polo
Unless they were asking her in a taunting way then you were the one who was being inappropriate. A blind girl could absolutely have played with them and all you would have been doing is making her feel like she can't fit in with the other kids.
this should have never been on here in the first place, kids dont think like adults, they dont see it like that. for u to feel ashame u had to explain it shows u to be the .....
Hide and seek is just low class, ask her to play "Marco Polo" instead :D
She could still play, she could be the seeker. All of her other senses are heightened so she'd be able to hear or smell them.
I went blind when I was about eight or nine years old, and I have two brothers that are within a year of age from me. We used to play hide and go seek all the time. Before and after going blind. It didn't make much of a difference. Oh, and yes I could be the seeker. I don't really understand why y'all don't think that's possible. Actually, I preferred being the seeker, but that had nothing to do with blindness.

She can hide with another child, I think it's sweet they wanted to include her. Maybe you were being a little uptight and should have thought of how she could play instead of why she couldn't.
It's saddening that she's blind, and may have been embarrassed but you did your best OP!
