Why was your 7 year old in a bar? :P
It's easier said than done, but not caring what others think about you really makes life more enjoyable. It was probably more convenient to make up a quick lie in this scenario, but even if you did tell your coworkers "my son accidentally punched me. lol", it wouldn't have mattered what they would have thought.
Next time just admit what happened. You all can just laugh about it later.
Damn
That's silly. Just tell them the truth. It makes sense that you wouldn't defend yourself or hit back your little son, so getting a black eye from him, while surprising, isn't emasculating. You "let" it happen because, what were you gonna do? Punch him back? Telling people you get in bar fights paints a worse picture of you, in my opinion.
Maybe his son was trying to rescue a basket of kittens. Or at least that's what he tells the other kids at school.
You're too much of a pansy to hit back?
lmfaooo that's awesome man. hey sorry about your eye but at least you know your kid will be able to defend himself when he gets older, there's that at the very least.

We all know the toothpaste cap gave you the black eye, don't lie.
Wow, 7 is definitely way old enough to know better than that. I would've gotten my ass handed to me if I'd punched my parent hard enough to leave a black eye at that age
