Hi, this is OP. I loved all of your comments and read every single one. I couldn't believe this got on the site! Thanks to number #22: I loved you're comment and made me feel loads better. I love that everyone was so understanding. What's strange is that although I am a painfully awkward, I usually just get really red when I have to talk to the class. Thankfully I have a lot of good friends in real life to comfort me. (and a few new internet ones!) Thanks for finding my life entertaining!

I lauged during my presentation on death camps during WWII....
OP, Toastmasters may great for your future. It helps not only with public speaking, but also with communication in general with other people.
@35 What's Toastmasters? I'm not good at communicating so it might be helpful.
At least your teacher let you sit it out and, from what I assume, gave you your points. Although what happened was terrible for you to look on the bright side at least you laugh instead hyperventilate or freeze up! I suffered from that for years and never once did a teacher let me sit the rest of the presentation out.
Also the mental image I get when reading this is absolutley awesome and really funny.
Did you get the credit for it?
Honestly? This doesn't seem like an FML, but more like a WIN. I mean, you got the class to laugh at nothing for no reason and the teacher saved you from having to finish your project in front of a disinterested class. Nothing bad, really. Hell, I wish I could've been there XD
OP.... you're not alone.
Do what I started doing, think to yourself that they are all naked idiots.

50. you are not alone. :-)
I'm the same way but I found a way to work around it. If the teacher is asking for a slideshow don't use one. Make a video instead. You will be able to include any clips in it by using youtube downloader and editing them in so you will look professional but the real cherry on top is recording yourself. Record all your information and then edit a frame with what you're talking about. So ur prerecorded voice is explaining it all and u get to sit back.
I can relate to this. I start to burn, up, stutter and apparently forget how to speak during presentations :/
Op, I have dropped out of college speech 3 times because of my fear of speaking in front of crowds. I would rather jump in front of a bus than speak to a crowd.
Psh what are friends
A month or so ago I was taking a speaking exam for my Spanish class on 2 hours of sleep and lots of caffeine. I got so giggly that my teacher made we leave the room and take a lap around the 4th floor and then come back. My entire class was laughing at me.

Where is #22? ._.
I was wondering the same thing !
Why did you go back? I would have stayed running
You're not alone. I get that too.

Awe it's ok public speaking is hard for many people and trust me your not alone.
Well, now you can think about becoming a psychology major in college and do a presentation about why presentations are awkward and be able to draw from personal experience.
