The fact that you were watching her is disturbing. Glad my grandmother's won't be coming to you, I'd had to chop off your short leg.
Umm I'm pretty sure I'm calling fake on this one. Going into this kinda profession you know that your going to see people at the well, 'worst times'. I'm pretty sure that the professional thing to do would be to leave the room while the patient gets undressed, and another thing, they act like this over some poor old lady getting changed, I would really hate to see them if they had to x-ray something really gross, like someone who has been maimed or has a grotesque injury that needs to be x-rayed or scanned. Really, you need to get another job because your clearly not cut out for it.
I call mine an ITouch also, I paid the money for it, I'll call it Dave if I want to. Just saying.

mine is called iTurtle
Anything metal will show up on x-ray, as well as thick materials like denim. #55, nice try, but you're actually very wrong. The radiological TECHNOLOGIST is the correct term for the person who takes the x-rays. This is a real professional term, because we are professionals. Technician implies someone who would work on the x-ray machine, not a person who takes x-rays on patients. The Radiologist will NOT take x-rays of patients normally unless they are being seen for a fluoroscopic procedure. Routine x-rays are taken by technologists, and OP could possibly be a student in the field. Newsflash for OP, there are much worse things than seeing the genitalia of the elderly if you're going into this field. It's almost an everyday occurrence when working in places like the ED and OR. Just wait until you learn how to do a barium enema.
Also, I doubt OP was watching her change. Some positions in radiography require patients to be laying down and lift their legs up. There is even a view where the central ray of the x-ray beam is centered right at the genitalia. This view is done on patients who sometimes are straight from surgery and not wearing any undergarments. You have to be pretty professional about this stuff and not get freaked out like that over OMG nudity?!?!
Also, OP was not watching the patient change. There are procedures that require patients to lay on their backs and lift their leg while wearing a hospital gown. There is one post surgery procedure that is centered directly at the genitalia to see the hip joint on patients straight from the OR who are not wearing any undergarments. You have to grow up and be professional about it and not freak out over OMG NUDITY!?!?!

hahahahaha i feel you.. im an xray tech too and old people love to be naked in front of us .. i really dont get it
@3: The OP didn't have to watch her change. Go look up how a hospital gown works. It's a giant loose garment that ties together at the neck at the back. There's a giant open slit from there on down. OP, grow up. I work with seniors in both my work and my volunteer job. When people get old and alot of them do not care what others think of them anymore. Sometimes I admire their freeness from self conciousness. This is not a FML.
