Today, I handed in my 2 weeks notice, since I have to leave for college soon. My boss told me it was fine, then cut all my remaining shifts. FML

I have a manager who does something similar; if you ask for a week off, she doesn't schedule you the week after that either. It sucks, especially if you need the money, but at least you won't have to work under that kind of management much longer.

Same thing happened to me with my last job. Luckily I was giving my two weeks due to the fact that I got another job though so I didn't need the last shifts. Looking at your username I'm assuming you're not in dire need of those last shifts either so that's good.

Literally same thing happened to me this week. I was kind of relieved. Enjoy the free time!

File for unemployment benefits and use that sweet cash to party on your vacation. Of course, it'd be a pretty low-key party because unemployment bennies suck.

This happened to me. I turned in my 2 week notice and they told me he was taking me off the schedule

if you put in a two week notice and they don't schedule you, you can probably fight it and have essentially pay you for the 2 weeks. so, its pretty much a 2 week paid vacation

The part that sucks is the manager can do that. I know a few that would do that. You'd think they would at least let you work for the time remaining.

I think that might be common with managers. Because when I used to work for Taco Bell the manager would cut my shift for like 2 weeks in a row every time I had an emergency and had to call out... or if I was to request a day off he would take me off for a week or two.

Weeeell, how often do you mean by "every time" you had to call out? I've called out once in six years. But I know people who have emergencies and call out every other week. That's legitimately a pain for the workplace, even assuming all the emergencies are true emergencies. A common thought among management seems to be "If someone is so accident/emergency prone as to be significantly unreliable, it's in the company's best interest not to schedule them for key shifts/positions." Often this will mean they'll take you off of opening/closing, or even busy shifts and leave you stuck with the crappy shifts.

totally agree i try to not call out the most i can..because 1) i need the money and shifts i do get & 2) I'd like to save the few callouts we're alloted for a time i truly need it too often i see people who like you said call out every other week and I just never understood it

report that ****** to texas workforce commission.

I just quit my job, I sent them a nice email and said how much I had enjoyed working there, and I would like to work the rest of the month. No reply. Not quite the same, but I guess it falls under the "bosses being petty" category.

Is that legal? In my country, the number of hours you work per week is stated on your work contract and your boss can't choose to make you work less or more unless you agree...

This happens at my job all the time. It's some statistic they look at that says most employees who would steal from work are more likely to do so in their last week of employment. My job cuts out the last week in an attempt to avoid this. It sucks, but at least you get some time off to relax before school starts.
