Today, my boyfriend came to visit from another state. My mom didn't want me to go to his hotel, but I did. When she asked about it, I lied to her and said I didn't go. She the showed me a picture of my car outside his hotel. FML

I assume you have a job since you're able to waste money? I have a hard time connecting with people because I am super reserved and introverted. I'm also terrible at small talk so initiating and maintaining conversations with most people is difficult. However, working in an environment with my own peers in a teamwork driven workplace really helped me make some new and great friends. Maybe the same could work for you?

It sucks being socially awkward. I have two people I consider real friends, and one is my sister. If you can find just one person to be friends with, go with that. Usually people with huge social circles have acquaintances instead of true friends. Do something you love, even if it is über dorky you will find a few true friends with common interest.
