Today, I hit a patch of black ice and totaled my car. The car is a month old. For the next 5 years I'll be paying for a car I can't drive. FML

Yeah, insurance should cover it, they should give you money for another car in the amount of what your car was worth before the accident. And if you don't have insurance, YDI.

If only Canada gave out car insurance as well as health, none the less why wouldn't you have car insurance anyway.

in BC you have to have insurance no matter what. but you can opt out of collision, which is what saves your ass. and for a new car that's a no brainer. you don't deserve this at all, but we all learn from our mistakes.

I bought a new car in bc and a condition of the financing was full insurance coverage I spent a bit more and also bought insurance that would provide a new vehicle if my car were totaled in its first three years of life

Umm gap insurance on anything you cant buy out right?

Sounds like you came across some Mayhem.

everyones excuse for bad winter driving is "a patch of black ice" learn to drive in winter already
