hi I'm oogyboogy the professional in fml translating. most, not all, fml's are exaggerated and i am here to bring out the true fml in them. Today, I interviewed for a job at a pharmaceutical lab. During the interview, I said something about a past work experience that made the interviewers think that I would enjoy doing something similar to that... so they gave me a warehouse job instead. I have a degree in biology. FML

I know guys with BA's (and even MFA's) in film who could only get jobs in a movie studio mailroom, where the requirement is a GED. Job hunting blows.

Tell them there's been a misunderstanding. If you're not doing something you're qualified for in a week, then quit.

a great degree does not equal automatic job. excellent communication skills are more powerful. i know people who apply for jobs they clearly are not qualified for, just for practice. and they get them. they are so convincing they have to talk the employer out of hiring them. learn to communicate effectively, else ydi.

I feel you, that does suck ass. But honestly, YDI because at no point in your interview did you tell them how excited you where to finally pursue a career in biology/chemistry. Or how you looked forward to bringing your best to their firm when it comes to working in biology and chemistry. I mean, it was your interview for ***** sake.....show some drive and initiative.

I hate it when people say to stop complaining. That's what this site is for, to be able to complain about the ironic and shitty things that happen to people during the day. So stop telling them to stop bitching, if it bothers you so much then don't come on this site and stop reading FML's.

You can't get picky for your career unless you have a master's or PHD. 90% of the time a BS translates to "generic degree."
