"Well, I'd have to say the 100 meter freestyle. Everyone just uses the front crawl stroke, so I don't really get to shine with this hybrid breaststroke/butterfly stroke I created as a child and spent years mastering."

The Kentucky derby! It's only one lap, that's it. There's nothing exciting about it! It's one lap and people absolutely go bonkers for it

The Kentucky Derby. I don't know why they refer to the horses as "athletes," considering they never chose to get into this line of work. Or you could be really nihilistic and say the human race.

Any of those individual medley swimming races or the decathlon/heptathlon. I want to see the specialists who are the best in the world at their events, and not generalists who are pretty good at many different ones.
