Today, I invited my girlfriend to go eat out, hoping to put her in a really romantic mood. She decided to tell her friend, who then invited herself and another couple along. I ended up being made fifth wheel, and had to sit alone at an adjacent table. FML

Why didn't you tell her you wanted it to be just her? Could have solved a lot of problems.

To me it sounds like your girlfriend is using you! Explain to her how you felt about what happened and see if you can go out again? (if she will apologize!)

To me, it seems that OP's girlfriend's friend should have been the 5th wheel since she was the one with out a significant other. Sorry OP. that sucks. Hopefully you can have a romantic dinner with just the two of you soon.

Either your girlfriend's stupid to not realize what you were doing, that it hurts you, or even what she's doing, or she's just insensitive and doesn't really care. Either you need to have a long talk, or I don't see the point of a relationship where they pull crap like that.

You should have said something to her. If she gets mad, let her. She should have told her friends it was a DATE

She seems very inconsiderate. I think that the next "romantic/special" occasion...ie: anniversary, her birthday...you should invite a bunch of your guy friends to share the moment. Take them all to a hockey game or something.

I would have walked out and left them there. That was very rude of her.
