Today, I learned my 40 year old father is marrying a girl barely a year and a half older than me. She told me not to be afraid to call her mom. I was torn between punching her in the face and vomiting. FML

It's a punch in the gut, but you will get over it eventually - just like a breakup or a death. Is it possible that she meant the don't be afraid to call me mom as a joke, poking fun at the ridiculousness of the situation? BTW, ten years ago, my sister married a man who had a daughter who was a year older than she was. The daughter was passive aggressive for years, even though they were both a lot older than you, but now they get along fine.

That's disgusting. My cousin, who is 54, i think, her husband is 60. He ws cheating on her with a 32 year old girl... 32 is young enough to be his own daughter! THAT IS GROSS

The old enough to be your daughter argument is kind of retarded. So your saying that a 50 year old can't date someone that is in their early thirties just because they could have a child around that age? They are both adults and they know what they are getting into, it's not like she is in her early teens or something.

I'm sorry but their is a huge difference between "dating someone your daughter's age" when your daughter is in her 30s and when your daughter is in her 20s (as the OP seems to be). People in their 20s and people in their 30s are at way different maturity levels. Then again, I'm assuming a 40 year old isn't dating someone half his age for maturity's sake...

Lol I wonder what /her/ dad thinks. I can just imagine you going "Hey moooooom, can I get 50 $?" Milk her for all she's worth, after all, she wants to be your "mom" ; ) Since she is so young I am guessing she is there for money and sex, he wants sex and she wants money. But if it really bothers you, tell your dad, if he cares about you he will most likely listen to what you have to say and re-think the situation. But yeah, FML xD
