Today, I learned that I'm the only person in my family that our new cat likes. She sleeps on my bed and always sits in my lap and despises everyone else. I'm allergic to cats. FML

Today, to celebrate moving into a new apartment, my girlfriend decided she would get a kitten. She didn't know I'm allergic to cats. When I told her, she decided that she couldn't date someone who couldn't be around her cat; the one she doesn't have yet. FML

Today, after 25 years living with my dad, who is highly allergic to cats, I was finally able to adopt two kittens to live in my new place, just like I have always wanted. Guess who else is highly allergic to cats? Me, it seems. FML

Today, my roommates adopted two kittens without consulting me. We're not allowed to have pets in our apartment and I'm severely allergic to cats. Oh well, it's not like I needed to be able to breathe this summer. FML

Not always true. Spraying with water is one of my cats favorite games. He press and snaps at the spray, he'll even bring the bottle if he wants to play. Works on the dog though

It depends. My mom and step dad are severely allergic to cats, but we have a "hypoallergenic" cat that doesn't affect them as much. He's Siberian, I believe, he's super fluffy. It has to do with a protein in the saliva, or something. But if they encounter another cat, it's all over.

#18 - i highly doubt that you can be severely allergic if they dont bother you, unless you have a hypoallergenic cat which you should have stated. #40 - my family owns a ragdoll, and he is so fluffy as well. i absolutely love it.
