Today, I learned what a "pain in the ass" means. I sat down on my patio swing chair, only to discover it was swarming with baby wasps, who stung me all over the butt. Ouch! FML

Point of biology. Wasps go through 4 life stages: egg, larva, pupae, and adult. Only adults can sting. They come out of the pupae fully grown.

How can baby wasps sting? Eggs larvae and pupae can't sting and barely move, if anything they just wriggle in the paper nest. I've seen someone pull out the larvae of paper wasps and cup them in his hand to feed to his chickens!

This is why I always look at the seat before sitting down. Nightmare fuel!
