If you lend a mooch a twenty then never see them again, it's money well spent.
m
maybe the vacations WHY she can't pay you back…
op is in France, friend is going to Italy. all north Americans talking about an 'expensive trip' should rethink. I believe a train from France to Italy isn't too expensive, nor are many hotels, or hostels for that matter. 20 isn't a ton of cash. anyone should be able to live without it, especially if they decided to lend it without a stated repayment date. if you couldn't afford to loan the 20 then you shouldn't have. ydi for whining about this. grow up.
Um, noooo. It says 'sent from a mobile version'. We don't know where the OP lives. France is the default location on the app for when the IP address/location can't be tracked. I reiterate: We do not know where the OP lives. Now, I don't about Spain, but a trip from America (the most common place for FMLs to come from) to France is about $1400. So I'd say it's rather expensive indeed. Not to mention the fact that paying off a debt should be the FIRST thing you do with your money. I don't know what type of twat borrows money, spends a large amount on a luxury, then bitches their friend out for even suggesting they pay it back.
thank you lindsaysue. exactly my rebuttal to that. £20 is not going to cause anyone to go hungry that wasn't going to go hungry anyways. I'm wondering if OP had a reason for wanting the money back and if it was expressed to the friend. I love how so many FMLs leave out so much useful info in hope the general masses will just side with them without thinking (which it is sad to see that they do)
okay, so I didn't know that France was a default setting. also, as I am on an iPhone, I do not see anything about 'sent from mobile'. I agree that Britain is a more likely location for op to be from, but France is a short drive, not entirely impossible. @intox- if you are going to be a know it all and make snide comments, make sure you make better assumption than the person you are criticizing. very unlikely op is from America, £20 is not likely considered a 'debt' to most people (more like a friendly loan) and why are you bringing up Spain at all?

I know how you feel! I have a similar situation. Lent a friend a decent sum of money...few years on still waiting to get paid back. It sucks cos you think your helping someone out and they just take the piss!!
why are you friends with her?
