Today, I proposed to my girlfriend, only for her to slap me, throwing the "fake ring" away and storming off, convinced it was a cruel joke. FML

Dude. Don't waste no more time with her. Find that ring and kick her to the curb.

#11 it's a possibility but you can't just assume that straight away

Dr HotHead you need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

What joke have u pulled on her in the past ?? ether way srry to hear that

My thoughts exactly! I can't see the girlfriend reacting like that if such a prank is totally out of OP's regular character or if he hadn't already pulled something similar. Unless of course they've only been dating for a couple weeks and that's why she reacted that way.

Have you played pranks on her in the past?

We definitely need a follow-up to see if OP has pulled similar pranks before and to see what ended up happening later. Did he explain he was serious and they are now engaged, did he dump her, she dump him? Etc...

Plan of action. 1: post on social media how heartbroken you are that the love of your life could reject you in such a cruel manner. 2: change all statuses to single followed by lines from sappy love songs about heart break. 3: If you have a program that shows what songs you are listening to on social media make a playlist of love songs then play them but mute the computer because you don't need to listen to that stuff. 4: use your heartbreak as a excuse to be lazy for a week. Get some time off work, catch up on your netflix, do a project you've been putting off and tell friends you " just don't feel like doing anything right now". 5: make some popcorn and watch the social media threads about how she was such a bitch to you and you deserve better. 6: get back out there and find the woman you deserve. Good luck mate.

I think just point #6 should be enough.

generally I don't approve of straight up manipulation, but here are 2 things 1. I can't see this not working. 2. Damn that is a ton of thought into that. #soevilitsgood

I wouldn't usually approve of this kind of stuff either, but this is pretty awesome and hilarious! I especially love point #4 & #5!

find the ring and dump her the back of a photocopy of the receipt as the paper to write a letter to dump her

Poorly worded but the concept is good. I believe you meant to say that the OP should find the ring and then write a break-up letter to his soon to be ex on the back of a copy of the ring receipt so that she: 1. can see that it was not a fake ring and 2. can feel bad about throwing away the relationship along with that ring.
