Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She asked if the ring was a temporary thing until I got a better one, saw my dumbfounded face, then played it off as a joke and said yes. I later found out she'd posted on Facebook bitching about the ring, but with the privacy setting set to hide it from me. FML

Today, my girlfriend found the engagement ring I bought and assumed it was a late birthday present. She’s now wearing it on her right hand like a signet ring and she somehow hasn’t figured out it’s a diamond and not a Swarovski. I'm now waiting for her to figure it out before I pop the question. If she didn't like the ring all she had to do was say it nicely and have a discussion about it with OP, I mean if it really was ugly then I would understand why she wouldn't want to have to look at it every day for the rest of her life but belittling OP on Facebook and gossiping behind his back was really childish and immature. I think it shows a bad character flaw and she owes him a big apology.
