Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She asked if the ring was a temporary thing until I got a better one, saw my dumbfounded face, then played it off as a joke and said yes. I later found out she'd posted on Facebook bitching about the ring, but with the privacy setting set to hide it from me. FML

I absolutely hate materialistic people. Period. This is just a sign of things to come and you will end up being miserable and feeling inadequate all the time. I would tell her you need to take the ring to a jeweler in order to get her one that is more fitting a girl of her quality. After she gives it to you, just walk away and leave her ungrateful ass to herself. You can move on to a girl that deserves you and she can move on to make some other guy miserable.

Damn, she seems quite shallow. It shouldn't matter if it's a $10 ring or a $10,000 ring...a proposal of marriage is a serious & wondrous event....I'd play it off as a joke (only if you're planning on dumping her) saying..."jk, I wanted to see if you cared more about possessions & $, or me....I didn't really want to marry a shallow gold digger like you, I'm saving up for a decent ring to give to a woman who truly loves me & wouldn't care if I gave her an onion ring instead of a real one"...if you say it, be prepared to see just how shallow (she really is) & how angry hell on earth can be...otherwise, you can just settle for someone who thinks "nothing you do will ever live up to HER expectations/desires" & live a miserable life with a gal who'll probably cheat on you with other men just to get possessions (like my ex did)...or maybe you'll just luck out & she'll come to her senses & drop the immaturity/greed & just love you for you.

A friend of mine asked her man to change the ring. She would be wearing it daily guys. I know she is not materialistic for sure. And she love him like crazy. It was really un ugly ring. Her BF was disappointed because he spent long time choosing it.
