Today, I realized I forgot to write a 5000 word essay for my English class. I tried to be calm since I had until midnight to finish, and it was only 8pm. I typed for three hours straight,and finished the assignment. I read over the instruction again, and realized it only had to be 500 words. FML

I did that same thing but the other way around. it was a 2000 word paper but I only wrote 200.

Some people are saying "well you did pretty well in three hours!" but proooobably OP did terrible. Reasons exist for rough drafts and peer reviews. I bet OP's paper was all over the place.

All you gotta say when u turn it in is awh ****! I coulda swore it said 5000 only if it was like 500 words minimum cuz all u gotta say is It just came flowing and i couldnt stop writing it didnt feel right!!!

And oh yea fyi i always write my papers last minute i hate that peer evaluation shit!! But guess what!? I get A's and B's on my papers thank you verry much! I put alot of time in planing them in my mind more so than paper because people cant read your thoughts!! And for me the words and messages flow better when its last minute.

My cousin, who's 25, takes classes and some of the work is due online. She showed me the website, and you basically have to turn in the essay before or at the due date and a set time. Her deadline was at eight pm, apparently OP's was midnight.

Yes, someone does control it. Some professors have you turn in your homework on Blackboard or some other online server. Or they might have you email it to them. Regardless, either one puts a time-stamp on the file when you send it, so they know exactly when you do. Idiot.
