Today, I realized just how bad my problem with making eye contact is, when I caught myself looking the other way when the singer in a music video looked directly at the camera. FML

Today, as always, I have autism and it is physically painful for me to make eye contact. I read that you can solve this by looking at the person’s ears or nose. Except my mom can somehow tell when I’m doing this, and she yells and screams at me for not looking her in the eye. FML

Today, there's a guy in my class who I'm very attracted to. I'm hyperconscious of him for that, and I worry about the impression I give. By now though, there have been at least two different eye contact occasions that made it look like I was staring at him when I was NOT, and now I must look like a creepy stalker. FML

I have that problem too only it's not that serious like yours. Even if I don't want to look directly in a persons eye for the whole convo I try to look at them a little so it's not that awkward

I like eye contact, but some things u can practice doing us looking at their nose, eyebrows, or forehead. The other person typically can't tell that your not looking in their eyes :P

I don't know why everyone is getting so bent out of shape by someone mentioning the possibility that OP *might* have Asperger's. It's more common than people think. You also have to bear in mind that AS is a spectrum disorder and it presents differently in different people. I thought OP might have it as well based on the severity of the eye contact issue. Then again, I suffer from Asperger's so I'm probably projecting to an extent.

Im sorry. I know people like you and I just don't understand what is wrong with eye contact. To me, the eyes are one of the most beautiful parts of the body. I hope you get past this because you are missing out!!
