Today, I realized that my baby stops crying loudly whenever I turn on the vacuum cleaner. I'm either stuck with a fussy baby all day, or the roaring sound of a vacuum cleaner. FML

Did you consider that the baby doesnt stop crying, you just can't here it over the vacuum

Haha that sucks! I can't stand the sound of babies crying, it's annoying! But then the vacuum is a pretty annoying sound too. Couldn't you find something else to entertain the baby?

record the vacuum for as long as you can then replay it close but quieter.. a vibrating infant chair helps too both or one

The baby probaby likes the white noise, I believe you can buy cd's of it or download it so you could play it quieter.

My thoughts exactly. Yeah some babies are more fussy than others, but if your baby is crying ALL DAY either you're doing something wrong or there's something wrong with the baby.

Or you could take care of your baby. Just saying.

yeah, sometimes they don't want to be held, fed, burped, or changed. they just want to cry. they sometimes just need to cry like ever other human feels the need to. and it's perfectly fine to let them try to work it out themselves OP. it helps develop their lungs if you let them just cry for 5-10 minutes by themselves in their bed. just make sure to continue checking on them. but I completely understand that it can be annoying OP. anyone who says "well take care of the baby" or similar is probably not a parent and shouldn't be making silly comments to posts like this unless it's to give some actual advice or an annecdote.

#100 and I must have posted at the same time, lol. and to those who say, "YDI for having a baby" no one deserves being sleep deprived, hungry, probably not having showered in a week, and did I mention tired? it comes with the territory, but the OP is probably tired and wants a nap, but either the baby is crying or a vacuum is running and they can't. and have the people who say "YDI for having a baby" thought about what would happen if EVERYONE thought the same and decided not to have kids? think about it...

I agree, and I know that sometimes babies just cry, I helped raise my brother. really though, if your baby is crying and screaming nonstop, for no reason, hours, everyday, you have a problem.
