Today, I really had to pee so I took the only stall that was available in the bathroom: the handicapped stall. A girl in a wheelchair came in seconds later and cursed at me for taking her designated spot. FML

I can understand her being upset if you're not handicapped. but he should just chill out if it was the only stall open what were you supposed to do?

The handicapped chick needs to calm the hell down. It's not like she personally owns the stall. She's not royalty and being handicapped doesn't mean she is above waiting her turn like anyone else. What a bitch. You should have cussed her out back.

What the hell? If she wants to be treated like everyone else, she can learn to wait like everyone else.

Being in this EXACT SAME SITUATION ON THE EXACT SAME DATE! IN THE EXACT SAME STATE!! I wanted to share my story! I was at the woodlands mall in texas, when i REALLY had to pee! I am normally on crutches but decided to use my wheelchair for the "distance walking" when i entered the restroom on the lower level floor of JC PENNY's, i noticed that out of 9 stalls, five on one wall, four on the other. only ONE stall was occupied.. THE HANDICAPP ONE!!! but being as its a free country i very politely waited. and waited and waited. Never saying a word. after a little while i guess my husband who was out side waiting on me, decided to send in my mother after me! My mother poked her head in the restroom, and said "hey lizz are you alright!" I just said "yes still waiting" . . . so my mother joined the group out in the hallway again! after another 11 min. My mom came back in and looked in every available stall to find one she could help me into! she found one right next door to the handicapp one with hand rails, and being as i am not completely confined to the chair she wheeled me over and i used the hand rails to go in and take care of business! the women in the handicapp stall never said a word. and i NEVER NEVER NEVER addressed her, or even spoke of her unkindly.. I figured she was in there taking a shit! and needed some space. but this really rips me a new one, because reading this, the exact same date same state, is just crazy to me, that guilt would make you reach out to complete strangers to get a "high five" because of me needing a handicapp stall is just assanin! I guess! what ever helps you sleep at night honey! did i mention the guilty ruined girl never did come out of the handicapp stall until well after i left the restroom!

#168 totally different. you can't get ticketed for using a handicapped accessible stall, you can get ticketed for using a handicap ONLY parking spot. see the difference? Or need to go back to grammar school?

What the hell is your point? It is immoral to use a stall designated for the handicapped if you're not handicapped yourself. Given certain circumstances, like the situation OP is in, sure. It's not okay to use it when there are available, functioning stalls that you CAN use. What if a handicapped person rolls in the bathroom and you're busy taking a shit? It's not about getting in trouble for doing something wrong, it's about doing something wrong, period. See the difference? Also, you're an idiot. "Grammar school" is irrelevant to the points I'm making. Maybe you should head there, considering that you have an issue starting sentences with capital letters.

At my old gym the main toilet in reception was handicap accesible; but that still didn't mean that non-handicapped people weren't point blank allowed to use it. If whether or not using a handicapped toilet is strictly ammoral or not depends entirely on the situation: If there are non-handicapped toilets availiable nearby, yes, going into the stall designed for handicapped people is wrong. So is using the stall knowing that a handicap is waiting to use it. However, the OP stated that a) she was desperate to use the toilet, b) no other toilet was availiable and c) the girl came in after she occupied the stall. Since it was a stall - and not a room - it probably wasn't hugely evident what it was to the OP until she was almost in it anyway. And irregardless of whether or not using the stall was immoral, that still doesn't excuse the handicapped girls aggressive behaivour at all. What, she had to wait around another minute to use the toilet? Well I'm sorry, I completely forgot that she was disabled and therefore should NEVER have to undergo everyday little unpleasantries. Lord forbid what would ever happen if she ever has to wait in a 5-minute queue with a desperate urge to pee, only to find the last person who used the stall has left piss all over the seat :/ +It's not always 100% wrong to use a disabled spot either - if it's a busy carpark, you have several small children with you and no family spots are availiable, for example.

I have never actually seen a handicapped person in a bathroom

Which is exactly why I said, "Given certain circumstances, like the situation OP is in, sure."

I never thought of myself as a grammar snob but I stopped at "irregardless." Just saying. BTW, I'm loving the reality show idea. I think mutually hated commenters (duck faces!) should be dropped in and the blokes will be forced to work together to destroy them.
