Today, I really had to pee so I took the only stall that was available in the bathroom: the handicapped stall. A girl in a wheelchair came in seconds later and cursed at me for taking her designated spot. FML

I can understand her being upset if you're not handicapped. but he should just chill out if it was the only stall open what were you supposed to do?

The handicapped chick needs to calm the hell down. It's not like she personally owns the stall. She's not royalty and being handicapped doesn't mean she is above waiting her turn like anyone else. What a bitch. You should have cussed her out back.

I agree, I'm sure they could of waited at least 2 minutes and you would be done.

You were fine. She was out of line. I am handicapped, but I do not use a cane, crutches, or wheelchair the majority of the time. I require the use of the bars found in a handicapped stall to use the toilet. People who don't know me wouldn't know that I have a legit reason to use the stall, because my gait is not typically impaired. I have been confronted by other people for my 'misuse'. They are not my doctor, and i see no reason they should be privy to my conditions. I usually just smile and go on my way. I do find it infuriating when people use the handicap stall when others are open. If it is the only open one, then it is fair game. But I don't say anything, because perhaps they have an invisible disability. (though I doubt that the number of women in my office that do this are actually in need of the stall's meager accommodations.) The worst is when people pee on the seat and don't clean up. If you are able to hover, you probably don't need the stall. And ffs, clean up after yourself. (Yes, the mess could be from a medical device, but again, CLEAN up after yourself!!) For those of you who are saying people not in a wheelchair can't have bladder problems, you are so wrong. Incontinence happens to many people.

A lot of people that aren't handicapped use the stall. She could have waited.

This is so outrageous that after years of browsing this website, I literally just signed up to comment on this. First of all, of course people in wheelchairs can wait as well. But there were several stalls you could have waited for and it wouldn't have taken that long, whereas she only has one stall she can use, so it's slightly unfair to make her wait for that one, but that's one thing I can live with. Has it occurred to you though that there are people who need the handicapped stall who are not in a wheelchair? I was on crutches earlier this year. _Everything_ was ridiculously difficult. Walking to the bathroom was difficult. Standing and waiting was even worse. It caused me a significant amount of physical pain. What if you use the handicapped bathroom and someone on crutches comes in and has to wait? They may have gone through a lot of pain to even get there, and every second they have to wait there may cause them more pain. So you needed to pee. That's tough. So you would have had to wait maybe five more minutes, and that would have been uncomfortable for you. Poor you. You risked putting someone else through a considerable amount of physical pain just to save yourself some discomfort. How on earth is that okay? How on earth can you post about it on this website and expect people to sympathise with you, and how on earth can so many people reply and tell you that what you did was okay when it really wasn't? I'm not on crutches anymore, and I'm generally okay using normal stalls now, but there are days when I need the handle bars. It's not obvious anymore that I have any problems, but if someone chewed me out for using the handicapped stall, I would understand it, and I would explain my situation to them. If I saw someone who does not look disabled using the handicapped stall, I would ask them whether they need it, and if they didn't, I'd ******* make sure they did next time. (Okay, not literally. But I'd love to. And I'd certainly tell them exactly what I think about people like them). That girl was right, and you are the scum of the earth for thinking that your comfort matters more than other people's physical well being. I seriously hope that you'll end up in a situation where you'll actually need the handicapped stall, even if it's just temporary, and I hope that every time you need to use it, there'll be a piece of shit like yourself in there keeping you waiting for no reason.

Nature was calling you, what were you supposed to do? Shit or piss down your legs?

That's like waking into an elevator and pushing someone else out because you have a wheelchair and they don't. Sure, you need to use the elevator, but who ever told you that you don't have to wait for it? What. An. Ass.

Unlike the parking spaces, handicap stalls can be used by anyone so she needs to chill. Some parents with babies and toddlers use those stalls, is she going to yell at them?

im super pregnant and currently dont fit in most regular stalls my tummy literally wont let me or if i have my toddler with me i cant fit us both in the smaller stalls either. plus in most bathrooms the baby changing station is in the handicapped stall. those stalls are for everyone. i have to wait my turn to pee and so should everyone else handicapped or not.

it's handicap accessible NOT handicap reserved. It was the only one BOTH of you could use at the moment, she had no special claim
