Today, I rear-ended a car while I was texting about the accident ahead which was causing all the traffic. FML

anyone who is stupid enough to text, drink, eat, read, etc. while driving needs to have their license revoked. Driving is dangerous enough without having idiots like OP on the road. If you want to drive recklessly, go play Grand Theft Auto. Otherwise, pay attention!

lol you're dumb. you seriously deserve that!

hahaha idiot... y are u texting while driving ydi.....

This is why they need to make it so all phones do not work for calling or texting in the car unless the call is to 911. Screw legislation blocking people just make it so when the car is in motion the phone can't work.

See, the problem I have with that is that it stops passengers phones from working too.

@77 Bad idea if you're just a passenger. I go for the subdura implants

Hermyoni 0

Yup no phones for passenger either. That means *wait for it* you'd have to pull over to use the phone. A passenger having a heated argument on the phone can be just as distracting as the driver doing it. If talking is that important you can take the 5 minutes out of your day and pull off. If the call isn't important it can wait til you reach the destination.

my problem with that is, sometimes I am following someone and if we split up it is easier for my passenger to call or text the other passenger. I also go for long drives sometimes and someone will ask me a question. I am almost always with someone so it is convenient that I can have them reply instead of having to wait 1+hours to get back to the person.

Yeah it sucks that your car is wrecked, but you chose to text while driving. Not an FML.

it's funny how all u ppl think all ppl who do that get in crashes. what's more funny is as I'm driving down the highway every other car someone is on their phone..some know how to pull it off and have successfully done so. me, I use the advance tech so I can keep focused on the road. all these shots at ppl who do that is pissin me off... every other american does it. why diss ourselves lol

Welcome to America dude. we don't band together as one here. we are all in it for oursleves and we don't give a **** about one another. it sucks but it's how the world is :/

eh maybe from where ur at but not where i'm from buddy..America is a big country..so really I should welcome you to America?

So you rationalize this behavior by saying "If everybody else does it, so can I?" That split second your attention is on your phone is the split second you could kill someone. You've gotten lucky that you've pulled it off in the past, just wait till you kill someone and your entire life gets taken away because your text message was so important!!

oh yeah I do this every day of my life for the last five years...forget crashes..not even a thud..so um u learn to be a better driver? rather then taking shots at me :)

Yeah, not so much. When I'm on the highway if I see someone going grossly under the speed/not driving in a straight line/not using a turn signal or any other stupid driving, about 95% of the time it's someone on a cell phone. At least where I'm from, people can't do both at the same time . . . that's the problem.

And yes, I do talk on my phone occasionally while driving (never text), but I have a headset so it's all voice activated. If I do have to dial or hit a button on my phone, I make sure that I'm not in traffic/have room around me and have the cruise control set so that for the brief moment I'm not thinking about my driving, my speed stays intact and I have a much smaller chance of something happening.

I'm 31 years old and never been in an accident. Partly because I don't use my phone while on the road. It's not a competition to see who's a better driver, it's a discussion on texting while driving. Don't be so defensive, if you can't handle the response to your posts then you should post. I know how good of a driver I am based on the 15 years experience I have with no tickets or accidents. 8 of those years I drove as a profession which required me to use the phone all the time....and every time I pulled off the road because I knew I was driving a 10 ton vehicle that could kill someone!

So are you superman? Are you invincible? So it can NEVER possibly happen to you? Is that what you're saying? Because you need to stop having a little boys mindset of being invincible and grow a pair. then again...I guess natural selection will run it's course.

this made me laugh. thank you :O)

also, texting while driving is worse than drinking and driving.

OP: for all the people who are making negative comments, I'll go ahead a laugh with you when something happens in their car (whether they're texting, talking on a phone, rummaging through their purse, eating, jamming tot heir favorite song, talking to a friend, in a hurry etc.) and they remember giving you so much crap saying "You Deserve It" when, in reality NO ONE deserves the pain or shock of wreck. i've never been in a wreck from texting but i text all the time. maybe you can limit it however and keep your phone up at eye level so that you're at least no looking down to text. i personally only text when i'm alone. my best tactic i have however is IF i have a passenger in the car i make them the "designated texter" so that i don't have to.

You're a ******* moron. Yeah, no one deserves the pain or shock of a wreck so please stop being a dangerous driver. Proudly flaunting the fact that you text and drive secretly doesn't make you invincible nor does it make you a good driver. Get the **** off the road.

u get a ******* life buddy mind ur business and read what he wrote.. fag

laurahunter0509 0

Okay, the pain of a wreck usually doesn't apply at low speeds in rear-end collisions, which I'm assuming this idiot's accident was because they are still capable of posting this. The shock of a wreck is exactly what this douche needs to let them know TEXTING WHILE DRIVING IS NOT OKAY IN ANY SITUATION. No one is so important that they can't wait until they get where they're going. If you need to phone that you're late for an appointment, pull over. If you're already late what's an extra 2 minutes? Better that than the time it would take to resolve an accident. You can't give me an excuse that would ever be good enough.

#93 - I'm not sure what your comment was. I'm sure it was just as idiotic as #84's though.

so old school lol i'm done with this argument with nuisance ppl...

Nuisance people? Do I need to explain what the problem with that is? Also, what exactly is old school? I agree with the fact that you should stop. Not because it's apparently old school but because you're making an ass of yourself.

well I haven't crashed or even got iin an accident and I always text. everybody has a habit but I know my limits. so the whole pull over to talk..hmm we would need to create another lane in every road cuz every other American does this lol. any big mouths wanna invest on that? haha

"I know my limits." That's what so many drunk drivers say right before they get behind the wheel of a car. You think you're in control, but something could happen in a split second, and if it takes you even a split second longer to see/react because you were texting , that could be the difference between a minor crash and a major one.

You've been lucky thus far but I sincerely hope you realize that you're not guaranteed to never crash. As for a new lane... that's not the suggestion when people say "pull over if you need to do it". If we lived in a world where drivers constantly pulled over on to the shoulder to reply to a text, I'm sure there would be many crashes caused by getting in and out of the shoulder seen as how many people lack the patience that would be required for this. The idea of stopping to do so means get the **** off the road way.

@hummingbug - How can someone doing something stupid and dangerous not deserve what they get from it? Driving is a dangerous thing, the reason it's so dangerous is because we put idiots in charge of machines that have the potential to be very destructive. If people practised safe driving then we'd be fine. Just because you've not done something yet doesn't mean to say your luck will hold forever. So please, for the sake of other people keep your mind on the damn road when you're behind the wheel.

hummingbug is a hero in this thread lol u took the words I couldn't express lol
