Today, I received a text with my last name spelled wrong. A short conversation revealed he got my number from me, through Tinder. I don't have an account, but he insisted he knew that I like it 'hard and rough'. He knew my first name. I still don't know how he got my phone number or name. FML

Sounds like a prank to me, OP. Got any friends with a tinder account?

Maybe someone could have made an account pretending to be you? That is illegal, definitely look into this!

People who are saying it's just a "prank": NO. Putting someone's personal information online without their knowledge and telling a bunch of strange men that they like it "hard and rough" is dangerous, it's definitely harassment and it is certainly illegal. Whoever did this is NOT OP's friend.

Hey, maybe someone was trying to do you a favour and set you up on a sick and twisted blind date

Tinder goes through Facebook. It's the only way to have one. From there he can search your name as a nearby source and find your picture on there that matches the one on tinder. Most Facebook accounts that are accessed through mobile phone will show your phone number in the "about" section.
