Today, I decided to finally tell my name to this really hot guy I had been anonymously chatting with for a couple of weeks. He said he would be fine with whoever I am, and want to go out with me. After sending my name, there was a long, awkward pause, and his last reply to me was, "Oh." FML

The vibe I'm getting here is that you were trying to trick the "really hot" guy into going out with you, by approaching namelessly and facelessly. That's why you extracted the "yes, let's meet" commitment before revealing your identity, isn't it? You knew he wouldn't go out with you if you approached without games. He bears some responsibility for his own awkward commitment, since he kept messaging you without demanding your identity. Sounds like you knew him or at least he may have known you before this. Otherwise why be so iffy about your name? Given his immediate reaction I'm guessing he knew who you are or was able to find out very quickly. Doesn't sound like you had given a picture if all it took was your name to. make him rethink everything. YDI for this and for being someone that would say "lol awks"

She describes him as really hot, ergo she is just as superficial as he is. It's hilarious how people want the right to only be interested in hot people, but then get mad when the hot person isn't interested in them.
