He has to pay child support until you get a new boyfriend/husband. The new bf/husband will legally be responsibile for the children.

Child support is not the same as alimony. The father will continue to pay even if the mother remarries or gets a "boyfriend". That has nothing to do with it :)

Wrong on several accounts. A) You're thinking of alimony, in which case the mother has to MARRY in order to stop alimony payments. Just getting a boyfriend is not enough. B) In order to stop child support payments, you have to sign your parental rights off and have the other person (so the bf/husband) adopt your child. I'm not sure if it can just be a boyfriend, it might have to be a husband. (or a girlfriend/wife depending)

That sux I understand the whole hold support thing but I think it's bullshit how much they make men pay considering the mother pockets half of it anyway nd most of them r on wic or some other thing like it so basically it's jus diapers nd clothes so bout 50 a week is enough

#117- I take it you don't have any children?!?! I would LOVE for everything to cost $50 a week. Not only is there a hospital bill of at least $20k (more if you don't have insurance), there is also the cost of 9 months worth of tests and Ob visits, furniture, toys, wipes, bottles, immense amounts of diapers, etc. WIC helps pay for healthy food options (milk, eggs, etc) and formula among the more important things. That is they HELP not pay for everything. If the mother is working/going to school, you have the cost of day care and then eventually school for the child starting age 5/6. So take that "$50" and multiply it by at least 10. Still think the father of a child shouldn't pay much?

Also the amount a father pays is calculated by how much he makes and needs to live, the amount the mother makes and what it takes to support their child every month. It is not a random number that the system mandates for him to pay to "screw" him. Men usually end up paying more because men tend to have higher salaries.

I do hav children nd we hav insurance thru the state wic nd temporary assistance nd all of that has nothing to do with a man it was all the gurl sons that pays for everything a baby cud need so ya 50 dollars is more then enough especially for the girls who don't live wit the man anymore nd wit the parents nd the parents pay for everything idk wea ur from but in ny there's plenty of females that do that shit so ur wrong 50 is more then enough

That sucks OP. My father payed for two years then stopped. Every time my mother pursued him, he would move, and she'd have to start all over with a new state. Eventually she just gave up.
