Just to clear this up, my keys were in the safe, so was my passport, however so were the things of 6 other people. I was the first person to leave and when I asked them to hand me my passport out of the safe when I left, completely forgetting I had put anything else in the safe. I arrived at the airport at midnight and was unable to get into my apartment until the next day where I did have a spare set of car and apartment keys. The resort did mail my keys to me a few days later and now I have them. Yes, I learned my lesson and in the future will be triple checking things myself!

a tip whenever traveling is to always triple check everything, especially things as important as all your keys. main important things that you really have no use for while on vacation should be kept in a safe and secure location with the rest of your luggage to avoid forgetting it. FYL though, we all make mistakes.

This is why I hate traveling. Even if I don't forget something, I still feel like I did.
How could you not remember to have your wallet on you? Didn't you have to pay for a taxi to/from the airport or even eat food or buy food at the airport while you waited?

OP is only missing keys, not wallet, & there's no mention of how she got home from the airport either way. Story ends at airport carpark upon discovery of lost keys because she drove herself to the airport.

I do, but they were in my apartment. Getting home from the airport and let into the apartment at midnight was the challenge.
Damn... This a real FML! that sucks bud. But hey, life happens!
