fifi125 tells us more.
Hey guys, just a lil bit of clarification. I was holding onto the tree to get a good look at the blue tongue (which was over half a metre long). We're not normally afraid of her, she's come into our house (which I'll put a picture of in my profile). It's just that that day I was too near her hidey hole so she chased me. I was in the tree havin a little stare-down with her when I must have moved a little too high up because this possum comes out of no where right up into my face. Scared the shit out of me so I ****** legged it inside. I'm also 16 so I don't have a heap of options about where I live lol

Blue tongues can't really rampage. We have two of them. Worse they'll do is hiss at you so your own fault really, since it's probably the size of your foot, and then you went and scared the possum.
It was far bigger than my foot hahaha (you can see its tail on my profile pic)
Oh lol, yeah alright, fair enough. I'm thinking of the smaller ones. I would have legged it, too.
pffft. weak...
As an Australian, I can safely say you need toughen up! Blue tongues are harmless and possums are fiiiiine. Embrace it, mate.
Speaking as a fellow aussie, Blue tongues are sweet lizards that hardly hurt anyone. Possums on the other hand...run! Sidenote, only last night I single-handedly had to remove not one, but two massive huntsman spiders from our basement. Australian animal problems are real!
wait they actually chase you??
Soft... blue tongue lizards are harmless.. as are possums
aren't blue tongued lizards just a blue tongued skink? aren't they like 10 inches long? why were you scared? we keep them as pets here.
I wish that's what they were. The blue tongue in my house is closer to a metre long
Blue tongues only grow to about half a metre long. I highly doubt it was 'rampaging' given that they usually keep to themselves in the wild. You'd have to be aggravating it for it to do anything, and even then it would probably just hiss (possibly bite if you're trying to touch it).

Blue tongue lizards really aren't that scary? Seriously unless you're waving your hand in front of their mouth they can't harm you. Clearly you weren't meant for Australian living.
I think 9 was talking proportionally their bodies are large compared to their legs. Goannas in fact can climb trees quite well with their claws as well.
