I feel ya. My mom said if my room isn’t spotless, I can’t spend thanksgiving with my boyfriend. Worst part is I’m 22.
You're an adult. Just go...unless you live in her house, and she threatens to kick you out.
I do live with her, but we split rent.
Is your name on the lease?
Then stand up for yourself, and tell her you're an adult, and paying rent. If she tries to kick you out, you have rights as a renter. Better still, save some money and move out....it's long past the time where she should be telling you what you can and can't do.
Aww yes isn't it great when the mentally ill have kids O wait that's right it sucks beyond words sorry for ya OP
This almost sounds like something from a Taylor Swift music video.
Psst! Could I interest you in a couple leftover pumpkins? If you buy now I give you a pair of used but still shiny glass slippers on top...
You have a poor excuse for parents. That’s terrible.

just go dude
I mean, to be very honest, I cannot imagine what your room looked like to require nine hours of cleaning. But on the other hand, this sounds like they never intended to let you go. I'm very sorry, I hope at least your date is understanding and you get another chance for some time together, though I know it's not possible to substitute the experience of junior prom. Despite my gut feeling I hope once things have smoothed over a bit, you and your parents can work out a compromise of them giving you a bit more freedom if you pick up a bit more responsibility - and clean your room for an hour every week instead of nine hours for when it gets you something. All the best.
