That happened to me exactly!!! My little bro came home from a football game and I was telling my mom about it. He apparently went upstairs, in my room and checked my connection, came down and flipped the switch. He came in the kitchen and said to me "Try the internet now, dipsh!t." I tried it and eventually yelled at him "You stupid son of a b!^@* ! how did you do that."
that happens to me all the time. i always forget that there is a switch. why do they have it if i causes problems? who would want to turn wireless off in the first place?
jeez, fyl because your brother fixed a mistake everyone eventually makes
The same thing happened to me with my new laptop. My cat had stepped on the key that connects it and I had no clue what to do. I spent hours trying to figure it out also. My friend came in from work, pressed the key and TA DAH!! *facepalm* Thanks for letting me know I am not alone :)
I think this post would fit better on MyLifeIsAverage... not saying that you deserve the hours and hours of confusion, but I just don't really think it's bad enough to be an FML...

ummmm really if you know enough about computers to spend "hours and hours" trying to figure out why the wireless internet isn't working then you should know enough to check if it's on or off. Isn't that fairly easy to discover? I mean, I have a MacBook and it shows right at the top of the screen if my wireless is on or off. I'm sorry but this has to be a YDI for a total "here's your sign" moment
Well, windows is pretty unclear and if the guy was used to using a desktop where there's no switch he could be pretty confused. I remember it took me a while to figure out about the wireless switch in the first laptop I had with one.
